Judging & Awards
Many thanks to our panel of skilled judges who review the reports each year. Your time and expertise are greatly appreciated.
ANNUAL REPORT AWARDS
Two awards will be given for each of the categories: one award for Editorial/Graphic Design and one for Financial Statements & Analysis. A total of 110 marks can be awarded for each annual report submission: 60 for editorial/graphic design and 50 for financial statements and analysis. Judges will be called upon to give a rating of 1-10 across each of the varied criteria and to provide comments to validate this rating.
PLEASE NOTE: Each report will be adjudicated by two separate judges (and also subject to the review of the coordinating judge): one who will judge it on editorial/graphic merit and another for financial statements and analysis. Each judge has been appointed to the Oilweek judging panel due to their expertise in one of these two areas.
In selecting winning annual reports, the judges look for clarity and integrity; compliance with regulatory and professional standards; extraordinary effort to report performance; innovation in reporting and analytical methods; the quality of writing, editing, graphics and printing; and usefulness to shareholders.
Annual reports are judged in terms of their effectiveness as an internal and external communications tool within companies, their shareholders, the industry and the broader marketplace.
Examples of what to look for:
Overall presentation
Effective and relevant usage of photographs, charts and graphs
Readability and legibility
ARA “Winner” DIGITAL GRAPHIC
In addition to the award presented at the Oilweek Annual Report Awards event, each winner will be sent a digital graphic to commemorate their win. Winners can celebrate their award-winning annual reports by putting this recognition on their websites or other material.
