MGM Energy Corp. and HAZCO Environmental Services have been chosen as Oilweek’s 2008 Producer and Supplier of the Year!

Through an online nominating and voting process at Oilweek.com conducted this past spring and summer, MGM Energy – an affiliate of Paramount Resources and one of the few Canadian companies actively exploring Canada’s Far North – emerged as our readers’ choice for 2008 Producer of the Year, while HAZCO Environmental Services - which provides environmental remediation, construction, and rehabilitation services to virtually every sector of Canadian industry - rose to the top as 2008 Supplier of the Year.

Led by Gulf Canada veteran Henry Sykes and Paramount Resources chairman Clay Riddell, MGM Energy amassed more than 35 per cent of the popular vote, beating out our other three finalists, including EnCana Corp. (29.9 per cent), Shell Canada (21.5 per cent), and Galleon Energy (13.5 per cent).

And HAZCO Environmental Services - part of the CCS Corp. group of companies - was the overwhelming choice as Supplier of the Year, attracting nearly 50 per cent of the votes registered and beating out the other three finalists, including Tundra Petroleum Services (28.9 per cent), Packers Plus Energy Services (16.4 per cent), and Petrell HSE Technologies (7.3 per cent).
