But the reality is that the top 10—the cream of Canada’s producing community—accounts for fully 67% of total Canadian gross production.

  11. Despite the slump in commodity prices, the top 10 producers continued to spend, largely reflecting the momentum of continuing oilsands project developments. Talisman Energy, however, pulled back in 2012 as part of a broader corporate restructuring, while Encana spent less as it sought to bring more balance to its production portfolio.
